Golden Milk Recipe
What exactly is Golden Milk?
Golden Milk is a rich, creamy, and healthy drink also known as turmeric Milk. It originated in, and has been a tradition in India. Golden Milk is considered to be a nutritive tonic in Indian and Chinese Ayurvedic medicine.
It's loaded with antioxidants, helps soothe inflammation in the body, may improve memory and brain function, helps to prevent cell damage, can boost your mood, is known to help soothe colds, coughs, aches, pains, restlessness, and overall is a drink that gets you all cozy and warm.
Here's a simple Golden Milk recipe to start with:
- 2 cups milk (I like using almond milk)
- 1 tsp organic turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- A pinch of black pepper
- *Other ingredients you can add are vanilla extract, nutmeg, grated ginger, or pumpkin pie spice
Combine all ingredients in a pot and simmer for about 10 to 12 minutes, stirring often. Then pour in your favorite mug and enjoy!
